Your Excellency,
Please alow me to draw your attention to the following.
Between 1 and 3 August 1997 Bosnian Croat residents rioted against several hundred Bosniacs who had recently returned to their homes in vilages near Jajce. One returnee, Hazim Sahman, was latter found dead in his house which had been set on fire. Subsequently, all the Bosniac returnees were either forcibly expelled, fled or were evacuated from the erea.
Unless all the authorities live up to their responsibility to respect the human rights of all citizens, it will not be save for many of the millions of refugees and displaced persons from your country to exercise their right to return to their homes in safety, as outlined in the General Framework Peace Agreement for Bosnia and Herzegovina.
I respectfully request you to order an independent investigation into the dead of Hazim Sahman, and into the forcible expulsion of Bosniacs from villages near Jacje.

Stuur ook een kopie van uw brief aan de Nederlandse staatssecretaris van Justitie. Vraag haar om niet over te gaan tot uitzetting van vluchtelingen uit Bosnië-Herzegovina zolang de situatie van de mensenrechten in dit land niet wezenlijk is verbeterd en vluchtelingen bij terugkeer riskeren het slachtoffer te worden van mensenrechten schendingen.
